Apologies to anyone who has noticed that the blog posts have been a bit few and far between lately. This weekend I was in Gloucestershire being put to task by my sister, the bride to be, and was left with such little energy by Sunday that the blog had to be put to one side…
Speaking of my sister's wedding, the napkins have been ordered and the embroidery is about to commence. I may be leaving it dangerously late (embroiderers are thrill seekers, we all know that) but I'm feeling perhaps foolishly confident that I'll be able to get it do
ne in time.
What I decided to do was to order double the number actually needed. First of all this would allow me a few practice goes and room for a few screw ups along the way. But secondly, as long as I don't screw one napkin up for every successful one, I should have some left over to sell at the Crystal Palace Festival that I'm trading at the weekend after the wedding.
I am so chuffed about the fact that I'm going to have a stall at the festival. Disproportionately so. For those who read the blog posts about the Christmas market fiasco part 1 and 2, you may be thinking ‘why is this idiot putting herself through the torture again?’. But the Crystal Palace Festival is a big ol’ well known annual market with actual customers and everything. If I'm lucky they might even remember to advertise it.
Having been in Westow Park before, Crystal Palace Festival is moving to Crystal Palace Park. Makes sense considering its name. It’s a much bigger site and the festival is claiming to be, “bigger and better than ever before”. This is quite a major claim as in 2015 when it last ran (they had a break last year) an estimated 10,000 visitors went to the festival over the course of the 5 days.
This year it’s going to be held on Saturday 17 June - that’s the day I will be there - with the Crystal Palace community fringe festival events taking place between Monday 12 June and Sunday 18 June 2017. It’s free to enter so come on down to see me there and to soak up the other festival jollities in the sunshine (optimistic as ever)!
